The future looks bright.. This experience was absolutely stunning from start to end. I've always loved narrative driven games like the former TellTale games and this could be the stepping stone toward that idea for vr. The idea of the "Awake" story really started to freak me out a little, like I took the Red Pill just by putting on the headset IRL. The only thing that took away from the experience was my lack of space. With no locomotion in game, you are at the will of your own two feet. In a more appropriate play area, the immersion can really pull you in i'm sure. The play area requirement by no means is a negative to the game, just more of a personal hassle (afraid of punching through my TV or Monitor). I'm very excited to see more episodes of this story released, and looking to see what other environments Start VR will drop us into.. First and foremost, very pretty with a great storyline for episode one, Im very much into the technical side of computers and seeing how someone has finally used this tech for a game just makes me so happy, I cant wait for the next episode, although I do feel $10 for half an hour will result in a refund from a few users and the less than 2 hour playtime rule. That aside, a great experience. The experience is very impressive. Once you're in it, it feels real and intense. The story and dialogs are pretty good too!. WOW, when is the next part out, These movie volumetric video's, need to be supported, the future of movies is astonishing. I can't wait till they produce full blockbuster movies in these formats. The immersion level is something else. Loved it, can't wait for more.. Problems starting, and performance issues. After using this at Raindance VR festival on Vive Pro, I was keen to try again using my Rift at home. I emailed the developers recently to ask about compability with Rift, and received a reply it would be in the New Year. Today i had another reply it was now ready for Rift, so downloaded and tried using. Multiple attempts to start failed; I got an image of two glowing orbs and then minutes of blackness whilst a loading screen on the computer monitor slowly went to 100%. However after getting to 100% still nothing happened, i closed the app and tried several times. I eventually shut Steam down, restarted Oculus, restarted Steam as administrator and it finally started. However, performance was poor with latency and glitching. I'm using a top end PC (8086K\/RTX2080Ti) so not a lack of resources, tried turning off supersampling, restarting, but made no difference. Just seems poorly optimised for Rift. Disappointed as i was looking forward to this for months, but Steam were timely in quickly processing my refund request Patch update 1.0.3 - Full Oculus Rift support!: New update with official Oculus Rift support.
